We are now taking
reservations for a litter of Pointing Labrador Retriever puppies we
are expecting this spring. The dam of the litter is CP Cobb's Crown Jewel. "Jewel" earned the title of Certified Pointer on her first try in Davis City, Iowa on March 24, 2001. The hunt trial was sponsored by the American Pointing Labrador Association (APLA). Jewel has had a great career thus far at Halverson's. In her first three years of hunting, she has made over a thousand retrieves and has also pointed hundreds of wild pheasants for our customers. She weighs about 60 lbs. and is a hunting machine who hunts the last field as hard as the first. She has played a role in both ESPN shows filmed at our farm, was one of the dogs featured on "Tony Dean Outdoors", and was featured on the "Dakota Backroads" radio program.
The sire of the litter is WR CP JoeMac's Dead on Arrival (Chief). Chief is a 4th generation PL. He is out of GMPR Rik's Risky Raider MH x CP JoeMac's Dakota Rose. 6 of the 8 dogs produced from Chief's litter(Raider x Rosie 1) are APLA certified. Chief is OFA Excellent, CERF is clear. He has the full package of looks, tempermant, desire, trainability, and staunch pointing. Chief is owned by Joe McCone in Lisbon Iowa. We are expecting black, yellow and chocolate pups from this pairing. They will be whelped around Feb. 5th 2002 and will be ready for new homes in 7 weeks (around April 1st.).
